On Sunday we were at the Lake District, at Lake Windermere. It was a good journey, however I have to admit I was missing the seaside, and I constantly felt something missing during the trip. The weather was great, I think it was around 21 degrees celsius, so we could finally wear only T-Shirt and not jumper all the time. And for the first time this year, I could wear my sunglasses too.
Followed our GPS we got easily to Lake Windermere, where we started having a coffee, then tried to find the best place at the lake. This made us drive around a while and ask locals who gave instructions, then finally we stopped in a small town, and rented rowing boat for an hour.
Rowing was ok, however exhausting, but at least we could row to the other side of the lake, "enjoy" the waves other ships initiated, knowing that the deepest point of the lake was 124 meter. It was great fun, we made many photos and videos.
After this fun we got to a town next to us, Ambleside, where we decided to climb the "fell" and see the waterfalls. Without maps, and usable instructions we have found the waterfalls, which were really nice, but unfortunately did not find the passage up to the top, so we had to come down. When we were at the bottom of the mountain again, a local man has told us where we missed the passage at the beginning :-)
After this we were so tired, that decided not to continue our journey, but go home. Unfortunately, the highway was full, and this huge traffic jam made our journey back home last for about 2 and a half hour.
But anyway, we arrived back home in one piece, which was a good confirmation for me, that my driving is getting better on the "wrong side" of the road. :-)
And here are the pictures:
