Crash
I had an interesting experience on saturday, which I would like to avoid having it next time.
I was hit by a car.
It was not so serious as everybody might think, however I still feel pain when I try to move my arm, and still have some pain at the right side of my chest. Mrs. Smith and me was on our way to the city, and as we left the house we saw the bus arriving to the bus stop in the other side of the road. I told her to hurry up and I decided to cross to road instantly, however the pedestrian crossing was about 20 metres from us.
In front of our house there is a 4 lanes road (2 lanes each direction), and the cars were stopped at the red traffic light in both directions. The first two lanes as I thought were filled with cars, so I wanted to slip between them, and cross the empty 3rd and 4th lanes before the other side gets green light. This plan would have been working out IF the first two lanes WERE indeed filled by cars. They were NOT obviously.
Situation:
1. Mr. John Smith is crossing the first lane between two cars....turning head to
the left, watching the other side traffic, when they will get green light.
2. Mr. John Smith is trying to cross the second lane.
3. Head still turned to left
4. Car is arriving from the right in the second lane, slowing down, as the light is still red.
5. Car and Mr. John Smith is arrives to the same spot together.
6. Car appears to be stronger, so Mr. John Smith is being hit from the right side and pushed up slightly to the air, and turned over.
7. Mr. John Smith is arriving to the side of a car still waits in the first lane.
8. Mr. John Smith spreads his arms and hold the car very close. (Looks like Spiderman stucks to the wall of a building)
9. Mrs. Smith screams (later she tells saw the car arriving but she couldn't warn me)
The whole situation looked like a bouncy-ball bounced between two cars :-). My eye glasses had flown away and landed on the road, and I remember my only concern in the very second of the accident was the fear that my glasses gets broken.
The lady who hit me with the car has pulled over, and she asked if I was OK. I told her I am fine, however I was quite insecure on my feet. My legs were shaking and I was full of adrenalin.
We went back to our place and after having a couple minutes to rest we went to the city as we planned before. But this time we were using the pedestrian crossing, which was secured by traffic lights.
I still can not raise my arm after a certain angle without feeling pain, and when I walk I still can feel the pain in my belly and my knees also.
Now we are able to laugh about it, and show my "magic flying Matrix moves" over and over to each other, but still if I think about it I have to admit I was lucky.
So lesson learned.... Always look around, and cross on safe places. (as we were tought in the primary school)
