It has been quite some time now without adding new posts to my blog, forgive me for that.
Let's start from the beginning. My car battery died eventually, it cost me 49.95 pounds to replace it with a new one (3 year guarantee), but at the end I could make it to Swansea.
The trip to South-Wales was a horror. On the A12 motorway, I found out, that my windscreen washer did not work, therefore I could not get any windscreen wash liquid out of the tank to the screen. Therefore, I had to stop every time when it became too filthy to look out. It caused a huge delay in my journey, as I had to stop every 20 minutes. The liquid I bought from Tesco was frozen inside its tank, so I could not hope for a solution until it was freezing temperatures outside.
The journey there took me around 7 hours, and lots of stress, driving a car with dirty windscreen, but I got there eventually.
The hotel I stayed was marvelous, I could not complain. Perfect room, perfect service, perfect food. I parked the car at the customer's parking, and I ran out to BT to do my job.
Fortunately everything went well removing our kit from the site, so we could finish up in one day. The next day, I realized, that my handbreak on the car got frozen and stucked, therefore I could not move the car at all.
My colleague, Akshay took me to the local Vauxhall salon to ask them about my issue with the windscreen wash. They told me, the fuse got blown, as I tried to wash the windscreen with the frozen liquid, as I could not exchange it myself (I broke the plastic box in that cold weather), they offered me to change it for 19 quid. I accepted it.
Then rushed back to the car, and find out how to get it from A to B. I was lucky, by the time we got back, the handbreak released itself, so I could drive it to the service, and got the fuse replaced. Luckily the small engine did not die, so it cost me only 19 pounds, and at the end I had my windscreen washer working.
I went back to BT, and finished the last stage of the removal, then later on we decided to visit the coast nearby and see a lighthouse (obviously it was my idea). The reason we decided to stay and look around, was the main bridge got closed from traffic because of the weather conditions, and we had to wait anyway until it reopened.
So We visited the Mumbles lighthouse which was great, located at a wonderful place, I could have spent my whole day there wandering around.
We had a quick dinner, and headed back to Ipswich. The roads on the return journey were fine, however the weather was freezing, so I could only did 50-60mph on the whole way back. I had my headset on, so I could talk to Mrs. Smith a lot while I Was driving. (Also my lorry driver friend called me for 30 minutes, so they kept me entertained)
Got home around midnight.
It was a good trip, a long one, with a bit of stress, but at least I had seen the west-coast again, and visited another lighthouse.
