Got burned again. Went to the town Thorpeness on Sunday with our hungarian friends, and because there were heavy rain predicted, did not take suntan lotion. It was a mistake. The UV came through the clouds anyway, but most of the time, there were no clouds at all! It was sunny, and incredible warm. So at the end of the day, we looked like lobsters. Again. 

In Thorpeness (read the town's story on Wiki), we visited the "House in the clouds", and the Windmill. There was free entry to the Windmill, which was alright (the windmill was too small to ask any money for the entrance)

When we climbed the stairs and got to the first floor, I turned to one of my friend, and told him, he was supposed to pay £5 for the entry, just like everyone else. I did not expect him to buy the whole joke, but he did. He got nervous and started to mumble something about the high price of the entrance, but I did not want to push him further, so I told I was kidding only. 

Of course we laughed at him, as the whole situation was quite funny. We checked out the whole place in about 3 minutes, then went down and out again. When we were outside, I went to the old guy in the small shop (located at the bottom of the windmill), and asked him to participate in a joke. I had asked him to watch us leaving, then come after us, asking for £5 entry fee. :)

Well, he did. You should have seen their faces. The whole group froze in their move, and was listening to the old guy asking for money. Mrs. Smith was recording everything on video. I did not want to wait and carry this joke forward, so I thanked for the guy participating in it. That was the moment when the others realised it was only a joke. We bursted out laughing. 

I hope next time, when they REALLY forget to pay for entrance, they will not believe in another joke :)

After this "incident" we rented boats and paddled through the artificial lake. It was great fun, me and Mrs. Smith chosen a canoe for us, and others went for a "traditional" boat with paddles. Well, I have to say, canoe is not easy to "drive". :) We almost sank the boat in the middle of the lake, it was hard to control, and as Mrs. Smith got tired very soon, I had to manage the whole thing. Of course, after abour 15 minutes, she already wanted to swap and sit in the other boat, where she did not have to paddle. Well, as this was not an option, she had to accept the fact, that without exercise she will not made it to the shore. 

It was a very exhausting one hour activity, but everyone enjoyed that a lot. (Was not even that expensive, the canoe was £14 for an hour, the boat was £17.50 alltogether)

The sun was shining, so we got tanned, and burned after all. Finishing up the boat trip, we bought beer, and some drinks and headed to the seaside. We sat there for around an hour and talked, watching english people swim in the sea :)

We headed back to Ipswich around 14:00, and went for a coffee in Starbucks. Did not spend so much time there, as everybody was tired, so we all go home, and agreed in another trip this weekend. 

Was a great day, should have avoided getting sunburned, but anyway, we relaxed a lot, laughed a lot, and had fun.

But with this day the good weather seems to be over for now, as heavy rain is approaching us. (BTW, it is already raining outside)
