Hello Readers,
I know I did not write anything for a long time now. But to be honest, there was nothing really to write. I still work here, working a lot, and also I still enjoy it. The team is great, having good fun, learning a lot, etc.
We still love our apartment, and our life here, no change in this. It seems we will not go home for the Christmas, friends from Manchester will visit us, but I think I have mentioned this already.
Weather here turns cold now, with frozen ice every morning on my cars windscreen. Morning Mist, and chilly weather are quite common now, and even when I drive front and back foglights on, looking like a christmas tree, some of the people don't even turn on their headlights. How crazy is that? And they are suprised the number of accidents happening on the main roads.
The city itself looks nice now, with all the Christmas decoration and the HUGE crowd of people. I swear, everybody turns mad around Christmas, and they literally BUY EVERYTHING! Incredible how much they spend on this, and they do not even think about the main part of this event, to have the family together. I attach some pictures from one of our city trip we did recently. And also you are able to see what nice things people throw in the channel infront of our street. And this is just a small part of it what is in the pictures. We have seen: Troley, buggy, general rubbish, complete TREE, traffic signs, bicycles, etc.
Unfortunately as MSN is forbidden from work, I am unable to log in, and when I get home, I am so tired, I do not want to talk to anyone apart from Mrs. Smith. Weekends are passing much quicker now that she works on saturday mornings.
We had the company Chrismtas party recently, where partners were allowed to come. It was a very nice dinner in a french restaurant, on a BOAT, which is in the marina of Ipswich. Well, it took probably 5 minutes for us to get there from our flat, and from the boat, we could even see our building. :-) It was a great night to spend with many good people, I felt myself very well, and also, the way back home was quick and nice. (Just walk along the port. :-)
As the credit crunch, and the financial crisis hits IT sector too, my company has announced they will fire 5% of their employee worldwide. (50 people). Now everybody is afraid even in my team, and I really hope this will not effect us. Fingers crossed guys.
I would be quite sad with a result like that, now, when I signed contract for rent, for BT broadband, etc. Would hit me bad a decision like this. ( I start to speak like master YODA: Much to learn you still have my young padawan...) LOL
Finally I had the time today to log on Facebook, and check out my friends, and I also did the same on iwiw. But I have to realize, after a while these social networking pages get so bloody boring. They have nothing new to give anymore.
Talking about IT regulations. INDEX, the company who runs this blog engine, decided to change the blogs in order the bloggers to decide whether he/she wants to put adverts on it. They were promising if you allow it, your blog can be promoted on the biggest hungarian online news portal (www.index.hu). I decided not to. First of all, not that many people would be interested what I write here, second of all it is all in english, they would not promote an english blog on a hungarian site for sure.
I thought the "storm" was over, then they came up with the idea, that soon or it is already happened, only REGISTERED users can leave comments. Not like I receive comments that much, but from time to time I do. Some of my comments, as the main reason I write this blog in english, comes from foreign people who does not speak hungarian. Therefore, the only way for them in order to leave comment is to register on a hungarian site, which they will not be able to do for sure. What a fucking decision is this? ( I am sure after this ad incident, it is all about money as always - adverts can be sold more expensive for them if the blog is visited/commented more often, and allowing only registered comments, the best way probably to prove it or something like that)
So what can I do, if I do not want to force my friends to register themself in hungarian?
MOVE MY BLOG TO AN ENGLISH SITE.
I am not happy about it at all, but what else can I do? So please guys, come up with the ideas, which is the best place on the net, to continue my blog?
As probably you will not be able to place comments here, either:
