148th - Another week has gone

2008.11.09. 21:13 ZmanUK

... Mrs. Smith visited me on Friday afternoon, which was great. The train station is
around 10 minutes walk from our house, so the location is perfect.

Saturday, we went to see the Orwell Bridge, which is about 3 minutes drive from us, you can read about it in Wikipedia, I spare you from the "lesson". After this we went to the city centre, which was packed with people, infront of the city hall there were some scottish musicians with bagpipes, and they were playing on them. And of course this was the time, when I left the digital camera at home, so I could not make any pictures. We went to the Primark, where Mrs. Smith talked to the shop manager, and asked her to start her transfer from Manchester to here. It went smoothly, so hopefully next week I will have some news about it. Fingers crossed.

The weather was not the best, it was not cold, but it was raining, so we went back to the flat, after spending  a fortune at the Tesco in Martlesham.

On Sunday, it was different. The weather was good, sunny, no rain, a bit windy tho. Our cat, Poker has learned how to go out to the balcony, and started to "speak" to the seagulls, which are constantly outside, making noises. Now I will have a new "work" to do, and be the doorman at the balcony door for our cat. :)

We spent the whole day laying around, then in the early afternoon we went to the train station to buy my tickets, as I am gonna have to go to Staines (Staines office) tomorrow for induction day. So I am gonna have to travel through Suffolk, to London Liverpool Street Station, from there tube to Waterloo, then train to Staines. It will be around 3 hours journey,
and the same back at the end of the day. Interesting, isn't it?

I did not want to go by car, as I heard M25 can be tricky sometimes, and I did not want to get stucked in the traffic. At least I will be able to read my new Stephen King book I just bought for 7 quid a couple days ago.

In the afternoon I had to take Mrs. Smith to Cambridge, as her train was departing from there. It was an hour and 10 minutes drive there, then drop her off and drive back (another 1 hour 10 minute). Well, it was easy for me, but she is the one, has to travel almost 5 hour to get back to Manchester.

Tomorrow my train leaves at 6:38, so I will be awfully tired. But anyway, I feel myself happy here, the flat is good, the work is interesting, the weather is better, we have HOT WATER. I only miss the people we left behind in Manchester. But you can not get always what you want.... there is a song about it, right?

ps. I already found some lighthouses to visit.... hopefully there will be pictures soon :)
