Lift Troubles.
When I moved to the flat in January, our block had two elevators out of service (2 out of 2). They were in pretty bad conditions, some funny guy just sprayed some words on their door as: "PLEASE FIX ME!" We live on the fourth floor, at least had some excersize every day climbing stairs.
Then suddenly one of the lifts had been repaired and we started to use it. Often it got stuck between two floors, ofthen had to break out the people stucked inside. Then it was working for a while. After these incidents, someone always came and fixed it. But only for a couple days until the next "incident". The whole "lifting" ride was serious gambling for the residents.
Our lift has been repaired again since it was vandalised by the partying blokes (I wrote about it). Then it went wrong again, then it was repaired. And Today it does not work again.
Question: Why the hell is it so difficult to repair an elevator?
We have been struggling with this for a long time now. Is it so difficult to repair something and upgrade it to a working level? When nobody vandalise it, nobody destroy it, nobody does anything to block the elevator, why it goes wrong always? Why can not a simple thing like this be managed here? It is incredible these people call their work "REPAIR".
I am starting to feel I live in a third world country.
If I must grade Uk, so far I would say:
Beautiful country: A
Weather: D
Management Level in every official process: E minus
Financial/Lifestyle part: A minus
Hungarians are always complaining, you might say. However I have an american colleague here, who has the same opinion about these. :-)
