Sixty-First

How shall I start? Appologizing for the long delay but I had lots of things to sort out and my life was a mess. Many things happened in the last couple days, I will try to tell everything briefly.

1.

I got a bad review from one of the hungarian guy here who read my blog. He told me there were way too many grammatical mistakes in it. Well, my message to him is "Bite me" :-) To be honest, I don't give a rat's ass for my grammar right now, as I am not publishing this to the Times Magazine. This is a Strictly personal blog, with personal entries, and also with MY grammar. End of Story

2.

I went home for the weekend, I got to Budapest on Saturday evening, (it was 32 degrees) getting out the plane was the worst, as I entered wearing jumper and jacket, and had to undress quickly when the heat hit me in the face.

3.

Budapest has not changed much, some new buildings were built, however I noticed straight away, the ammount of the homeless people has increased. Also there were a lot of old people on the public transport. On some level, in Manchester we don't really see people over 50 on the public transport, so it was strange. Everything was dirty, and I don't mean that everything was covered by rubbish. No, I meant it was DIRTY. DIRT everywhere. As in Manchester we have lots of communal rubbish around, on the streets, however Budapest has dirt everywhere. Graffities on the buildings, dirt on the cars, and all of the rubbish bins were full, and noone seemed to care about that. It was very disappointing to see this. I am not sure why I am so desperate to move back at the end.  Because of having summer there, all of the road construction works just started causing traffic jams in the city. Bus, Tram routes had been changed, with NO information about the replacement services. I was having difficulties finding the way, and at least I could speak the language and could ask others. What would a foreigner do?

4.

I met my Dad, and spent a day with him, we were out to the garden, as it was great weather, however 34 degrees seemed to be a lot at the end. Also visited our great friends who gave me place to stay for this weekend, and at last we could chat and laugh, etc. Then on Sunday I went to a Pizzeria where I went every weekend with my friends when I was living at home. We spent lots of time there sitting in the garden, enjoying cold drinks. At 10:30pm, the outside temperature was still 30 degrees, I did not want to believe it.

5.

On Monday, I went to exchange some money, and sell GBP. I was almost crying when I saw the echange rates. GBP is down the hill, and Forint is getting stronger, so this makes me said. Since I moved to Manchester, I realized that my salary has lost its value comparing to the hungarian currency, and the difference is more than 300 pounds. So I am earning less in 5 months, crazy. Who knows where this will stop?

6.

I went to see my friend who works as a car dealer, and had an appointment with the car owner I wanted to buy the car from. We had to start the process for  the bank loan, that was the reason I had to go home. Everything went well, I tried the car which is just great. 2,5 year old, but looks like a brand new one from inside. From outside it has some scratches, as it was not kept in garage, but I don't really car about it. The car is in perfect condition, and that what it counts. A Little bit expensive tho, but I could not find a better deal. The loan was accepted by the bank, so when it was confirmed I was already on the way back to the airport.

It was a very short weekend, with lots of travelling in the heat. I was wearing shorts, and T-shirt and still I was sweating like a pig. It was incredible. Global warming, ain't it?

We have two more days from this week, as on Saturday we fly back home again, but this time for a week holiday. If everything goes well all of the paperwork for the car will be ready, and we'll be able to pick it up next tuesday. And on Friday, we'll prepare for the 2000km drive back to Manchester.

But that will be another story.
