Cat.
We are going home for a week at the end of June. It will be a short visit to see our family and friends, and also this will be hopefully the end of our cat's struggle about the "accomodation". Currently our loved fury gentleman is a guest of Mrs. Smith's colleague place.
As the UK law refers to the Live Animal Transportation, a pet from the EU has to have a certified blood sample examination document, proving it does not have rabies. Then it has to wait 6 months, after the blood sample was taken to enter to the United Kingdom.
The reason why these rules are so stricts, that in the UK they don't have rabies at all, so I understand they don't wanna have it. BUT, as the date is getting closer we called up the Hungarian Airline to ask them how can we transport live animal. They told us, everywhere in the EU, they can be taken by a commercial planes, but not to the UK. If you wanna take your cat / dog to the UK or IRELAND, you'll have to get a transport company, (Air Cargo), and "post" your pet to the destination.
Well, we determined to have him over here, the only thing bugs me is how much we'll we have to pay for this transport. As we already bought our quite expensive tickets (considering the busy period we would like to travel), we'll still need to arrange and pay for the "private" ride of our cat.
Anyway, tomorrow we'll call up MALEV AIR CARGO in order to ask them about the options and prices...
