Monday,
Is there anything else I should say about it? Oh, yes, as you are my friends know, that there is only one thing I hate more then Monday. Tuesday.
Anyway, Monday was quite interesting for me, finally got some things to work on, some VOIP related issues involving Nextone. Had to make some traces and analyze DTMF RTP packets, which were ok, and also had to contact the Gamma guys in Budapest. Was fun to write them email in English :-), in order to let the people understand who were in the cc also.
The travelling home always shorter than going there, I am home in 1 (!) hour. The buses are packed with people in this time, the main street in Manchester is crowded with young people. Looks like old people does not exist in this city.
Also there were some hoodies got on the bus halfway, and they were listening some loud rap music, I was about to say, turn that shit off or ..... but I was just to frightened to say anything to them :-)
I have to realize after so many travelling here, that people smell. Smell very badly. I smelt some really stinky people in Prague also, not to mention the homelesses in Budapest on the buses back home, but Manchester is quite smelly also. I am thinking about to put a clothes-pin on my nose before I get on the bus...
Saturday evening was also good, I met up some hungarians, and went to a Jazz bar, which was absulotely full, therefore we had to go to another place. As it was saturday evening around 10, every club was full, and we had no chance to find table for 11 people. Finally we got ourselves into a pub, Old Monkey, which was good enough for me, so I settled down, and bought a beer. Half of the group had continued their journey for finding the perfect party place, but 1,5 hour later they came back with no success.
I was really amazed with Manchester at night, around midnight. Full of drunk people. Many of them were dressing up like crazy people (stag nights, and hen weekends I guess), many of them were attacking cars passing by, many of them were just looking for fight. English ladies were wearing practically nothing, just some summer clothes, and 80% of them were on barefoot, holding their shoes in their hands, as it was probably more comforable. I was wearing t-shirt, jumper, jacket, and I was still cold, and they were just walking around like it was summer. The temperature was around 5-6 degrees.
The evening was educational that is for sure.
My dear friends, probably you don't wanna believe me, Mr. Tv-Series, but since I am here, I have been going out many times. More in one week, than in 2 years in Prague. (And probably drank more beers also)
Who knows? Maybe I am really turning to Mr. John Smith. All I need is Mrs. Smith to move here also...:-)
