This is the city you can not describe in one post. From the moment we arrived, and drove towards Canary Wharf, a sort of undescribable feeling changed my mood instantly.
I felt like I was going "home". You know the feeling when you lived somewhere, spent nice years there, had lots of memories, then years later you go back again? That feeling is great.
For me London will always be SOMETHING. I had lots of memories, had such a great time there, and most importantly, I met Mrs. Smith here. Hungary was too small to meet, we had to meet in London. And it was over 6 years ago! Do not want to believe it.
When you walk around Greenwich or any part of London, you can feel the mixture of people absorbing your soul. One big international city. Thousand things to do, thousand things to see. Even if it is too crowded to live there, you must come back from time to time, just to give yourself the dose of London, which would fill you up until your next visit.
It was great to visit London as a non-tourist. It was great to know, how can you get around in the city, remember all the tube lines, the bus routes, the small shops, stores, markets, etc. It is great to visit, knowing London is familiar, London is your "friend".
Every time I visit, I get emotional. Probably because for me the first step was London. I could not have made it without this first step. "London" - was the entity who helped me to learn the world around me. To observe, and be more open. London is the basic reason I have many international friends, and work also in an international environment.
Many memories returned back, as we were walking around, passing through the busy market, saw the skyscrapers (sorry Mr. Klobasa).
Memories of travelling on double deckers, visiting Big Ben, walking along the bank of River Thames, browsing through Portobello Market, haggling at Brick Lane market, eating SFC spicy chicken wings in Kilburn, watching the Christmas lights on Regent Street, popping to LillyWhites, shopping at Oxford Street, eating thai food at Camden, walking through Harrods, waiting for Mrs. Smith at the Nike store at Oxford Circus, walking through Soho at 4.am, feeding fishes at Holland Park, swimming in a lake at Hampsted Heath, sunbathing at Hide Park, listening to speakers at the "corner", partying and drinking coctails in Smolensky, eating stake at Angus Stake House, sitting in the comfy chairs in Nero Cafe ...
... and it could go on for ever.
This is London for me
