I am fed up with hungarians. On our famous social networking site, people began to post messages on noteboards, about the Hungarian Guard (national guard which was formed by the far-right wing party) objecting against the abrogate order.
Recently there was a court order to ban the Hungarian Guard, based on the fact, that this organization is a half-military group, which had been formed with only one purpose, to threaten gipsy minority in Hungary.
As many of my friends were "supporting" this group, made me thinking, why people are so shallow and do not look deep down to the bottom of it?
Hungary is facing a quite serious gipsy minority situation. Integrating this minority into the hungarian society, was not successful for over 50 years. And now the issue is bigger then everyone expected.
Gipsy people in Hungary are uneducated, they have 80% unemployment, and many of them living only on social benefits provided by the government. So having children for social benefit became a standard. Many of them commiting crimes to support their families, or just to gain more and more money.
I understand, that the police is weak now (they have sent the old "experienced" policemen to retirement), and the criminals have more "human rights" than the victims, but still, we should let the police and the court do their bit.
And this is when the national guard comes in the picture. They were advertising themselves as the only solution for this issue, and people began to believe them.
Noone was concerned, that this Hungarian Guard is a copy of a quite old hungarian movement, which was formed in the 1920-ies, served only racist and war idolizing purposes.
People only wants to hear, that gipsy people will not cause more problems, everything will be taken care of. This is just bullshit.
I would not be bothered so much, but at this EU election, our far-right wing party, got 14% of the votes, and they could delegate 3 members to the EU parliament. Funny, isn't it? Nacionalist, far-right wing party members in the EU parliament? Why don't these people go back to Hungary if they hate foreigners and the EU so much?
So the whole "success" in the election shows, that more and more people supports these ideas, which shows a bizarre future for Hungary.
One of my friend told me, I did not understand the situation because I don't live in Hungary anymore.
Well, this is not necessarily true. I do not have to live at home to know, that racism is not something people should support and follow. Racism does not benefit anyone.
Hungarian government should be changed, police should be reinforced, and court orders should be more severe to tackle the increasing crime and corruption in Hungary.
But unfortunately, it seems every day more and more hungarians think otherwise...
