150th - Another one

2008.11.17. 22:25 ZmanUK

Mrs. Smith is here. She moved last friday, and now she works at the local Primark. Her transfer went very well, and it was very easy to do. As Netherland was cancelled (you now, Primark cancelled the trip without further explanation), she was quite disappointed, and none of us expected this transfer to be managed so easily.

Anyway, she works now in early morning shifts, but hopefully this will change to a "normal" schedule. For me life is the same as it was the last 2 weeks. I am still learning, trying to put the huge puzzle together, watching how Mr. Brazilian works. Our team is great, very good people, and very experienced also.

Finally after Interoute I can proudly say, this is another good team. We always go out to lunch together, and I am really happy for this international group.

This weekend we decided to go out. Saturday we stayed in the flat, packed, cleaned, bought stuff (vacuum cleaner, etc), then sunday we went to a town nearby (58km), to Southwold. It is a town at the seaside, with their lighthouse in the middle of the town. The place itself was great, the sea was also nice, but forget the blue sea at Wales. This sea is grey. Probably because of the sand, but still, even with walking out to the edge of the pier, the water color still remained grey, which is a shame.

My heart is still aching for the wonderful seaside of Wales, and very difficult to accept, many things has changed over the last weeks, and I will need to face it, amongst many good things, somehow I lost my prescious Wales. The weather turned "stormy", dark clouds approached us, however there was no rain, but perfect conditions for making photos. Walking along the shore, we have seen many small sharkes, which were caught by the local fishermen and left there for the gulls. They had some black dots on their body, I will have to look up their type.

On the Southwold pier, in a small shop we bought a nice gift, two puffin birds figures on a small rock, so now we have a nice "sea-corner" in our flat, with all the stuff we collected during out trips.

Then we went to see the lighthouse, which emerged from the houses of the town. Unfortunately we could not enter, as the last visit was on the 1-2 of November, and it was closed for the winter. Anyway, next time.

Regarding the flat, moving to Ipswich did not change the "land of frustration" opinion of mine. I was fighting with EON over the last week, phone calls back and forth, in order to open my account for this flat and register myself on the internet with them. Well, with every call I had to identify myself, saying my name, address, POSTCODE, and phone number, which they always checked, and only after the identification I could talk to them. Then at the end they found out, a mistake had been made and someone entered my POSTCODE incorrectly to the system, that is why I could not register myself with them. No fcking comment.

Currently waiting for the agent to sort out the water charges, and report us properly to the water supplier. (Supplier sent a mail on saturday, that we are living in a brand new flat, and a brand new account needs to be set up - which is obviously a bullsh*t, because there was previous tenant before us)

Waiting also for BT equipment to arrive, then to go to the post office to pick it up, as despite of Bt's promise, I could not change the delivery address to be delivered to my work address. Therefore nobody will be here, when Royal Mail will deliver it. Nonsense.

So, we still suffer with using 3G pay as you go internet. Terrible slow, and supposed to be up to 7MB. :-)

So far Ipswich seems to be a good choice, but seems that our problems did not disappear, the system does not work better here than it was working in Manchester. I think this is the thing we will have to deal with eventually.

We miss our friends, especially those who already went home, and miss the great Wales which I fell in Love with.
