Sunday in Wales:
On the way to Anglesey we have stopped to see Bodelwyddan Castle. We were always just passing by on the way to Conwy/Llandudno/Anglesey, but now we stopped for a couple minutes and took some pictures. The area was really nice, but we had many things to see, so we continued the journey.
Anglesey. The place itself is magical, probably the best place for me. Nice area, great coast.
Finally we were able to stop and take pictures of Menai Bridge , when we were getting to the island of Anglesey, and went to Beaumaris after all to see if we could catch a boat for a trip to Puffin Island. The weather unfortunately turned nasty, crazy wind with strong waves, so all the boat trips were cancelled. We visited the Beaumaris Castle again which was great even for the second time. There was high tide at the sea and the waves were striking over the enforced brick wall of the coast, and hitting the sidewalks. It was incredible feeling to see this force.
The rain fell heavily, but we did not care, we dressed up fully waterproofed. Went to Penmon after Beaumaris to see the lighthouse. The Tide was going away slowly, but unfortunately this time in autumn, you can not access the lighthouse even when the tide is low.
After we arrived, got out of the car, went down to the shore, and in 1 minute, we have seen two dolphins (porpoises) in the water. We were very happy about them, and in another minute Mrs. Smith has noticed a seal, which was peeking out of the water, and was watching us. Great experience that is for sure. The rain fell, sun started to shine, and a nice rainbow was created over the Puffin island and the Penmom lighthouse.
We were walking along the shore, and have discovered many places we haven't visited yet, so it was a really good decision to come to this place again. After we went back to the town (Beaumaris) and had a traditional english dinner (peas, steak, gravy sauce, yorkshire pudding). After the dinner as it was 18:00 we decided to go back to the lighthouse, as the tide was low. Unfortunately that was the moment when we realized, the passage was not visible, the water level was still to high, so we could not climb the lighthouse again. But I think that was the best.
It was a perfect day to say farewell to Wales, and our journey home was celebrated with heavy rain through the way.
I feel sadness because of the current happenings, I really liked Wales, it was a real magical place to go and relax. Unfortunately it will be too far away from our next destination, so we will have to find something else.
