I was browsing on the internet in order to find a car to rent for saturday.
Lets's see:
- Cars starts from 32 GBP
- If you have an accident, which was not caused by you, you still need to pay excess fee of 650 GBP (wtf?), unlike the european insurance limitations
- Deposit vary from 100 - 1000 GBP
- And the BEST, in 99% of the companies you have to pay the deposit with credit card, they do not accept debit cards for deposit payment
- You can not rent a car with your debit card which will be driven by another person, only if you will be the main driver, and you'll pay for additional driver (6,5GBP+VAT)
My questions apart from WTF,
- What does it matter if I pay the car rental for someone else with my debit card?
- Why do I need to pay excess fee in case of emergency?
- Why not the "quilty" person's (who caused the accident) insurance company pays for my damage?
- Why most of the companies in the UK are forcing me to have CREDIT CARD?
- Why does the whole world suffer from CREDIT CRUNCH?
It is just freakin ridiculous, isn't it? In Spain, you did not have to pay any excess ammount if you were suffering in an accident, and you did not cause it.
And about the credit cards? Why???? If I have sufficient fund on my debit card, and I even have some savings on it, why am I receiving offers from my bank to have credit card? Do I really need credit?? Do I need more money with high APR? Why should I go for it, not matter how "good deal" is it, if I have money? Just because everyone has one (two, three)? Companies are forcing you to have it, because without credit card, you can not manage many things, or you can do it but with more struggle on the way.
But if you think about it a little bit, the whole credit crunch has happened because of the loans which were given easily to those people who could not pay it back. (Of course there was property price changes triggering it, but the main reason was the multiplied loans/mortgages debited on property) Coming from the fact, banks are selling out loans, should we need more credit cards? Of course it is good for the banks, but is it really good for us? The credit card money belongs to the bank. It is not a present for us. We HAVE TO PAY IT BACK once. And don't come with the NO INTERESTS to be paid for 6/12 Months. I do not know many people who could use this money to make profit out of it. Eventually you will fall into the trap where you have to pay back the money with interests on it. And that is not good.
So anyway, I am fed up with our modern world, where banks are forcing you to have loans/credit cards, and even other companies (car rental, etc) are assisting for this, and then finally you see huge recession in the world, and credit crunch.
Billions of EUR and USD are being pumped into the banks from taxpayers money to keep them running, then still the leaving bosses of these well-respected financial groups are receiving 50million< severance pay.
They are letting people to have their money for huge APR, playing with the money, having profit on it, getting rich, crashing everything at the end (Credit crunch), then even get payed for this from those people's money who they are borrowing to.
Just to keep the system running.
Fcking funny, isn't it?
