I called EON yesterday, and found out in a very hard way, that one of our two meters has stopped counting. (The night meter)
What does it mean? It means, that the night electricity usage was billed as daytime, with a much higher price (night price, 5p/KW, day 30p/KW)
They have promised to come and fix it, therefore we made an appointment with them. After the phonecall, I was checking all the electricity bills since 07 November 2007, when the previous tenant was living there (unfortunately we still use her account, it was not changed to our name), and found out, that the meter reading has stopped from that date!!!
So all the electricity bills from 07 November 2007 were incorrectly billed. We hope that the night meter stopped working, and not the daytime, but based on our details, we must have overpaid a lot of electricity in the last couple months.
And the question: how will this be sorted out? I have no fcking idea, as being familiar with the processes here in any field of life, this seems to be a long fight with EON.
EON advised us not to pay for the 500 pounds bill, which I am not gonna do, however here and now I can confidently say, I will receive a warning from them next month, to pay our bill :-)
