Another weekend has gone, and our holiday is getting closer. We did nothing particular over this weekend, couldn't manage to get everybody together and go somewhere nice, so stayed at home.
We discovered a beautiful Botanical Garden next to our house (200m), Fletcher Moss, which is free to enter, and everywhere you could see benches were put there as memorial of old people who loved the park and died in the past.
Behind this garden there is a "huge" forest, and field, and some tourist passages. I never expected to find such an enviroment in Manchester. This looks like countryside, rather than a city. With minutes of walk you can get to the river Mersey, and everywhere you see you can find signs, which explaines how healthy is walking and how it reduces stress.
Imagine a proper forest with nice passages, birds singing, etc, so you can leave the city behind totally, and hear nothing else but the sounds of nature. Absolut heaven for the soul. As we were walking by a huge field, which was surrounded with fence and barbed wire, we discovered a horde of cows. There was one part at the fence where it was lower, so we could stand there and rip some grass, and "invite" the cows holding it up.
It took a while when finally the cows started to move closer, master their fear, and let their curiosity rule their act. They went for the grass :-). Slowly, and one by one, but only the bravest ones from the horde. :-)
And there was a cow, which showed no fear at all, and let us stroke her on the head, while she was eating the grass from our hand naturally, like it would happen every day. We made some very good video of this, and even when we laughed, she did not move away. Amazingly huge animals they were and it was strange that they were afraid of people.
After we fed her fully, we continued our journey, but we returned the next day (Sunday), just to see how it was going with them :-).
It also took some minutes while they noticed us standing by the fence, but when "our" cow has noticed we were there, she was almost "running" for the food. It was sooo funny, as this cow was showing an effort to get to us faster, not letting anybody else to get fed by us. We stroke her for minutes, she beared it, and when we ripped all the grass from around, we decided to go home.
We would like to go and visit "her" again soon, I wonder if she will notice us quicker this time :-)
