Just a short one.
The owner of the lighthouse told us there are some peregrins around the cliffs, the fastest birds on the globe. They have been measured to fly with around 200-250 miles per hour speed. We really didn't want to believe it, anyway we were smiling a bit on this stupid fact. Then when I got home I made some research, and here you go:
The peregrine is the fastest bird on record reaching horizontal cruising speeds of 65-90 kmh ( 40-55 mph) and not exceeding speeds of 105-110 kmh (65-68 mph). When stooping, the peregrine flies at much greater speeds however, varying from 160-440 kmh (99-273 mph)
