London
Only one word can describe so many things. London can be hated or loved, or felt both things for it.
We have been invited to London at the last weekend by one of our friend (4th of April - 6th of April). The story briefly, as I haven't been updated this blog very often; is below.
We went to London by train on friday just straight after work. The train was quite high-tech, Virgin train, with a fairly acceptable price (33GBP return), and after 2 and half hour journey we have arrived to Euston station. (Nothing really to mention about the journey, it was quick, efficient, comfortable.)
Quick call to our friend Matteo, and descussion of our meeting point. Then 5 minutes walk on Marylebone road to Euston Square station to catch the Metropolitan line to West-Hampstead. Then change line to Jubilee to Kilburn. Nice and quick. I had to realize we will never forget this area where we lived almost half a year and travelled to work every day.
At Kilburn station Matteo, and his friend Edina (who is also hungarian) were waiting for us.
Happy greetings to each other, big hugs, happy handshakes, etc. then we popped to the chicken cottage to grab some junkfood for dinner. Who knows that area a lilttle must be familiar with that chicken shop :-).
Also we noticed some things changed in the couple years we were not living there New Sainsbury at the old Lloyds bank place for example), but the Kilburn High Road is basically remained the same.
(Brief update: Matteo and Edina was a couple in 2004 and lived in London in a flatshare with Mrs. Smith for a while, and we became very good friends. Then they broke up, and Matteo went back to Italy, and Edina to Hungary, however Matteo moved back to London at the end of 2006. So this was a reunited meeting.)
Matteo is renting a studio flat in Kilburn, paying 750GBP included everything, which is quite a lot considering the size of the flat. However the location is perfect, and the flat is nice. We went back to see our previous apartman we were living in. We could get inside and found out, however the flatmates has changed, a czech girl we knew back in 2004 was still living there. Unfortunately we could not meet her as she was not at home. :-(
On Saturday, however it was quite a rainy and chilly day, we decided to go to Camden Town/Lock Market, as this is the market which always worth to check if you just wanna walk around.

We have seen many interesting things, bought some old books for pences, ate japanese food, got smacked by pouring rain. It was a good fun to look around. I have seen the part which was burned in the huge fire previously destroyed Camden Town.
On the way back to the apartman, we stopped at Abbey road, as I always wanted to recreate the famous photograph/album cover of the Beatles, and altough I was living there for 6 months, I never managed to do it. Well, it is not the best, but still, Abbey road. :-)
The angle of the picture was taken could have been better tho.
Sunday was our last day there, and the weather was nice to us. It was incredible sunny day, and warm, so we decided to visit Hampstead Heath as we can see over the whole city from there. Hampstead is a very well maintained and rich neighbourhood with beautiful forrest, and lakes. We made many pictures, and enjoyed the great weather. Also walking on Hampstead High Road, I stopped to buy a digital camera at Jessops because ours has died, and did not work well for a while. Then we stopped and went into nice and very posh restaurant to eat, but unfortunately their kitchen was just about to close, so apart from having a beer there we remained hungry (hungry Hungarians, as I never heard before :))).
In the centre of Hampstead we found a nice english pub/restaurant where we had something to eat. I ate very delicious beefsteak with chips and vedgetables, and of course a yorkshire pudding, a true english food :-)

In the afternoon, we had to go back to our place and get ready to catch the train back to Manchester. Matteo had taken us to Euston station by car, and we said good bye to each other. We agreed, not to agree on a date/time of the next meeting. Fate will make it happen soon.
The way back to Manchester was about 3 hours, and it felt very bad to come back, as I was overflowed by all the good and old memories I had about London. It was great, and also painful to see the area where we lived, and where almost all the excitement has started in our life.
