Mrs. Smith has arrived on Friday. I went to pick her up at the airport, then as her plane was a bit late, we had to wait for the train. On the way to the airport I have met the ticket inspector on the train, therefore I had to buy a ticket. I have asked for a return ticket, and he told me it was 95 pence only! I asked him why was it so cheap, but I couldn't really understand his reply fully. (I guess it was some kind of discounted period)
On Saturday we were busy bees. I wanted to have a haircut, as I start to look like Kevin Sorbo (the great actor who plays Hercules :-)))), but as I had no appointment, I had to cancel my plan. Mrs. Smith was sooo happy that I remained to look like Mr. Sorbo. :-)
In case someone does not know him, YES, he is Kevin Sorbo... alias Hercules
In the morning at 9 we went to the city, to renew Mrs. Smith's cash account at Lloyds. She was also suprised with the fact of the polish invasion I have described at my earlier post. We went to the same branch I was a couple weeks ago, and could also benefit from the fact we were hungarians.
I have updated my bank account also, it was done quite quickly. After this we went to Arndale to an O2 shop, where I finally could change my Pay as you go card to a contract. I have bought SIM only pack, but still needed to pay a 100 quid deposit just in case as they requested after my credit check.
The funny thing was while I was waiting for my contract to be done, at the table next to me, there was a polish employee of the O2 shop, was dealing with a polish customer. Of course it was not done in English :-)
England amaze me every time. I think we should honour english people's tolerance level. I am not sure if I could act the same way, and accept the lots of different nationalities, if this would be my country.
At the evening, there was a big hungarian party, celebrating the international women day, which is an unknown thing in the UK :-)
The party was ok, however there were a bit less hungarians than last time. But still all the ladies got some nice gifts. Some of them got nice candles, or makeup kits, and some of them got only colour changing silicon duck, which is very useful in the bathtub. :-)
We got home at 2.am a little bit drunk, and fell straight to bed.
Of course, if any friends would worry about it, I am trying to catch up on the movies with Mrs. Smith :-)
