And another week has gone since I wrote here.
I have spent another weekend here, it disappeared very quickly. On last friday we went to the Czech Bar, which is near the University and located on the north side of Moss side. Despite the location, the neighborhood is quite good, so there was nothing to worry really. It was a calm and quiet night, we played some table-football, and drank some good czech beers, sitting on huge leather sofas. It was relaxing indeed.
On Saturday evening I went to one of my hungarian friends place as he was organizing some kind of home party, which turned into a youtubevideowatching and drinking/giggleing night.
The guy just recently bought himself a flat near Victoria, in the city center. The flat is not too big, around 40sqm, maybe 45, one bedrom apartman, and it was 129K GBP. It was not soo cheap, however the location is good, and the flat itself is lovely. I felt a bit jelous :-)
In this small flat, there were around 10-12 hungarians on saturday evening, stucked in the living room / kitchen. I guess everybody was kinda tired, because nobody wanted to go anywhere, therefore we stayed and talked about the big things of life.
We went home at 1.am by night bus. Every time I am going home this time, I am amazed at the city. It is full with drunk youths, girls boys. People are shouting, fighting, laughing, breaking glasses, etc. Quite disturbing. Also disturbing to see the girls wearing summer clothing, and even walking on barefoot, when the temperature is around 0 degree. We were wearing jumpers, jackets, but still, I was feeling cold.
This resistance of cold of english people can not be explained by the alcohol usage, but by the differences of genetic structure. I think english skin was designed for this weather, this is why they don't feel cold. I remember Craig was coming to lunch with us in Prague wearing only a shirt, when it was freezing cold (even snow) outside.
We were passing by Printworks (club) at around 1:15 am, and saw the long queue of people were waiting for taxis. 90% of the girls there were dressed like hungarian girls do in summer. All of them were drunk tho, but still, it was crazy to see. On the street everything was covered with garbage, newspapers, beerbottles everywhere you could see. Lots of english blokes wearing only short sleeves shirts (no jacket, nothing) fully drunk, were bullying others, tried to initiate any fight they could. I don't remember if Prague was the same or not, but this is unbelievable. Even the Soho in London was not like this after midnight.
Our night bus was fully packed with people. At the back of the bus where we sat, there was an english bloke who was singing some football songs, about MU, shouting "fcking" and "sh*t" for every second word he said. On the front of the bus, there was a guy, totally drunk, with a bandage on his hand was covered by blood. He was laughing and moving around in the bus, touching everybody he could reach. People tried to escape but there was no place. (In one station the crowd made him believe that was his stop, and he got off finally)
We had a long run home, and I could get to bed after 2. am.
On sunday I was doing some shopping in Trafford Centre http://www.traffordcentre.co.uk/ but I was terrible tired, so I didn't spend much time there.
On the bus to Trafford, there were two young guy came onboard, they came "upstairs" on the upper deck, and they started to smoke. They dressed like they came out from a Sean Paul's music video. Nobody dared to say any word to stop them smoking. Why should they? The newspaper is full with violent stories, stabbings which were started by telling these kinda guys off by fellow passengers. So people learned the lessons, everybody stayed silent.
I am very worried about the young people behaviours here. This is just getting worse. People are now buying sound alarm systems for their homes and front yards, which emits high frequence voices which only disturbes the hearing of people under 20! I have never heard this before. Is this really the way to keep away the young thugs intimidating the residents?
The general security in England has got worse more, since I was living here last time.
Two days ago I was celebrating my 1 Month anniversary here :-), which didn't seem so long time. The celebration is not the right word here, as I was watching movies all night after work. (Probably this IS my celebration)
I hope I'll be able to celebrate the 1, and 2 year also.
Mrs. Smith is coming for the weekend again, so don't expect to update my blog soon...
